2020 Iceland Mission Trip
Trip Overview 

When: We will depart Sunday evening, May 24 and arrive back in DC on June 1
Where: Reykjavik, Iceland
Who: To work with Logan and Carla Douglas who are planting Redeemer City in Reykyavik, prayerfully in 2020
Cost: Total cost for trip is $1,450.00

Deadline:
- To sign up: Sign-up & initial deposit of $200 must be made by March 2nd, 2020
- For full payment: Trip must be paid for in full by May 4, 2020. Scholarships may be available. Please ask Jared about this if you are interested.

Purpose: The primary purpose of this trip will be to train and equip Icelandic believers from Loftstofan Baptistakirkja and Redeemer City in evangelism. We will also spend a significant amount of time engaging the people of Iceland in Gospel Conversations. Another core component of the trip will be a family festival that we will be helping to put on for families in the community. We will spend time inviting people in the community to that festival as we pray for them and share the Gospel. 

Trip Requirements and Training

Because of the nature of the trip and what we will be doing, we are asking participants to fully commit and to prepare well. There are a few dates we would like you to set aside in your calendar for training as we prepare for the trip. 

• Saturday, March 7th, 9am-2pm - Gospel Conversation Training - We want all trip participants to help us with this training at 800 Maine Ave because this is the exact training we will be doing in Iceland 
• Sunday, March 29th, 1-3pm - Iceland Trip Planning Meeting #1 - we will spend time planning out our week in Iceland, answering your questions about the trip, and praying
• Sunday, May 3rd, 1-3PM - Iceland Trip Planning Meeting #2 - we will use this time to make final preparations for the trip, go over our roles, and pray 

Passports - You only need a passport to travel to Iceland. You do NOT need to apply for any visas. If you do not yet have a passport, you need to apply for one immediately. They can take time to process. Please don’t put this off!

Iceland Trip Costs Breakdown

• $600 - flights & luggage
• $300 - lodging
• $25 - gasoline for the week 
• $285 for food ($35/day)
  • Breakfast & lunch will be family style at the Air BnB. Dinner will be on your own so you must bring spending money to purchase dinner, as well as extra money if you’d rather go out for breakfast or lunch! 
• $100 per person total for rental vehicle 
• $150 per person to go towards cost of church event we are putting on
